Tthere are animals of all sizes at the Montgomery County SPCA! There are three branches of our county SPCA: Abington, Conshohocken, and Perkiomenville, which has a barn and facilities for large anmals.
Last year, one of our members adopted a wonderful friendly rat. This curious pal is up for adoption too, and he is the friendliest white rat you've ever met! Visit the website to see these and more adoptable animals: www.montgomerycountyspca.org. |
Spring Fair, May 11, 2013. KIND Club raised $120 for Forgotten Cats with our Bark and Bake Sale. Members made pet toys, nutritious dog treats, and yummy baked goods. We also distributed over 100 Vegan Tofurky Samples and handed out literature about compassionate and healthy eating.
Earth Week: Our 5th and 2nd grade buddies teamed up for a cleanup of the wetlands near our school. We picked up several bags of trash, plastic, metal, and recyclables for the area. Students of CB also designed grocery bags with earth and animal-friendly reminders for the Earth Day Grocery Project. Bags are used by O'Neill's Market.
Ms. Ryan's Fifth Grade and KIND Club enjoyed vegetarian food during the Great American Meatout, March 20. Many students and staff took the pledge to go meatless one or more days a week!
Teachers and students sampled meatless cuisine prepared in Ms. Ryan's kitchen. Many Tofurky products were also generously donated by Turtle Mountain Foods. For a free Vegetarian Starter Kit and other good stuff, visit

We were Charmed!
We learned so much from Ms. Sue Kelly Smith and Charm during their recent visit to KIND Club. Charm demonstrated various obedience commands and amazed us with fun tricks. Ms. Smith showed us why commands are important for the safety of both dog and owner. Therapy Dog, Charm, and Ms. Sue Kelly Smith, former speech pathologist at Copper Beech, l visit Kind Club for a demonstration.
